The Mountfield 1538M-SD Lawn Tractor is a twin-bladed machine, with the counter-rotating action of the blades producing a high velocity airflow that positively blasts even long, damp grass through the side-discharge chute without blockages forming. The interaction of the blades also ensures a pleasingly neat and consistent cut.
Powering the Mountfield 1538M-SD Lawn Tractor is a 414cc, Stiga ST 400 engine that boasts an OHV design for a significant reduction in noise, vibration, fuel costs and emissions, and which has been fitted with a capacious, six-litre fuel tank for long periods of interruption-free mowing and towing.
A six-speed manual transmission (5 + 1) combines with a seven-step cutting-height (25-80mm) to ensure you'll be able to adapt the both the terrain and conditions you're faced with on any given day; a rugged steel cutter deck delivers the strength and durability that's essential for a long service life.
All Mountfield lawn tractors are designed with ergonomics to the fore, and the Mountfield 1538M-SD is no different. It features light-touch steering; an adjustable seat with suspension; a convenient cup holder; and low-effort, spring assisted height of cut adjustment.
In order to make keeping the underside of the deck clear of corrosive clippings quick and easy, the manufacturers have equipped the Mountfield 1538M-SD Lawn Tractor with a handy hosepipe attachment point.
Anti-scalp gauge wheels ensure the edges of the deck won't dig-in to and gouge the turf when working on rolling terrain; high-performance dual headlamps mean you'll be able to continue with the task in hand when the light's poor.
Also featured is a handy mow-in-reverse capability, which means you can choose to keep the blades spinning as you back-up.
