The top-quality, European-engineered Stiga CS 545 is a versatile, high-performance petrol chainsaw that’s ideal for heavier-duty lopping and felling applications in the domestic, agricultural and horticultural arenas.
The 40cm cutting-gear on the Stiga CS 545 Petrol Chainsaw is driven by a powerful but refined 42.4cc (2.6hp) two-stroke engine that’s characterised by its excellent fuel economy and low-emission operation; and which blends a digital coil with a primer and auto-return choke to make getting started a breeze.
An effective nylon-net air filter spares key engine parts from the damaging effects of debris ingress; a generously proportioned 0.51-litre fuel tank works with the efficient motor to keep top-up stops few and far between.
‘Kick-back’, which occurs when one of the chain teeth strikes a stubborn knot in the wood, can be dangerous. Stiga have got around this problem by fitting the CS 545 with a super-fast-acting chain brake, which bites and stops the chain as soon as any inertia is identified (the brake can also be activated manually).
The Stiga CS 545 Petrol Chainsaw features an adjustable chain-oil pump, so you can select the most appropriate flow-rate for the hardness of the timber you’re tackling. The oil-flow stops when the engine idles, thus avoiding mess and waste.
This well-balanced, easy-handling machine has been equipped with Stiga’s Vibration Control System and weighs-in at only 7.6kg; a combination that ensures day-long woodcutting tasks can be finished in comfort.
Convenience-features include quick-release covers, which provide immediate access to the air filter and spark plug; and an oversized oil-tank cap, which can be removed with gloved hands (a handy window makes it easy to keep track of the fill-level).
You’ll also get a magnesium crankcase that's lightweight, durable and fast cooling.
