With its two class-leading 48v lithium-ion battery packs producing power levels equivalent to many commercial-duty internal combustion machines, the groundbreaking Stiga BC 900e B 48v Cordless Brushcutter offers petrol-matching performance without the maintenance requirements, starting-hassle and neighbour-annoying noise.
The 7.5Ah batteries – available separately – drive a high-spec brushless motor that develops far more torque than any comparable brushed units, and which is so energy efficient, you’ll get a remarkable 70 minutes of uninterrupted grass-trimming and brushcutting from one charge cycle.
The Stiga BC 900e B 48v Cordless Brushcutter is constructed around an aluminium alloy shaft, which firstly keeps weight down to a manageable level; and secondly confers inherent corrosion-resistance and superior strength.
Extra-thick 2.4mm-diameter cutting-cord means dense grass and tall nettles can be hacked down with ease; an expansive 43cm cutting-swathe – one of the widest available – ensures lots of ground is covered with each sweep of the cutter head.
The gearing on the Stiga BC 900e B is manufactured from magnesium, which is lighter, faster-cooling and more durable than the HS steel more commonly used for brushcutter transmissions.
This model has been equipped with a ‘bike’-type handlebar for enhanced comfort, control and manoeuvrability.
Also important is the handy bump-feed system - simply tap the cutter-head on the ground to renew the line (metal blade also included).
Stiga recommend the BC 900e B is paired with the SBH 900 E Backpack Battery Harness.
